On 22 January 2006, Middlebury Police Officer Kye Richter was deployed to Iraq with the Vermont Air National Guard.  The photograph above shows MPD officers raising a blue-star flag in front of police headquarters.  The flag flew until Officer Richter's safe return from duty in Iraq.
